Prosecution of opposition

As known, more than 70% of the members of Rahmonov’s regime with the tactics and requests concerning political movements “Group24” and “Youth for the revival of Tajikistan” arrived in Moscow after 9th and 10th of October 2014 events in Dushanbe. At the time, the activists and heads of both movements were continuously implementing oppositional procedures greatly. Maqsud Ibrahimov had been holding interviews and press conferences. Umarali Quvvatov also did not end his struggle, but rather kept in contact with the people through the radio internet “Zello” and social sites struggling against the dictatorial regime.

During the visit of Muhiddin Kabiri, head of Islamic Revival of Tajikistan, activists of opposition movements came to meet him from various cities of the Russian Federation.

For the activists and supporters of opposition movements, the absurd and illegal announcement of them as “Extremist” by Rahmonov’s regime had no particular significance, because Rahmonov by his action had proved himself a real dictator in front of the international community.

The consequences of the visit of 70% of the members of Rahmnov’s regime and the “Secret agreement” between the two countries gave rise to future prosecution of activists of the movements “Group24” and “Youth for the revival of Tajikistan” in Russian Federation territory. In addition, detainment of activists began in Russian cities.

12th of November 2014 Abdurahim Vosiev was detained in Moscow.                                   3th of December 2014 Mehrubon Sattorov was detained in Moscow.                             19th of December 2014 Sulaimon Jobirov was detained in Samara city.                         19th of December 2014 political activist Roziya Abdurahmonova was detained in Novosibirsk.                                                                                                  Quvvatulloh Giloev also detained in Novosibirsk.                                                   Sherzod Komilov was detained in Yekaterinburg.

It should be noted, that the other activists: Umedjon Solihov, Neamatullo Qurbonov and Azam Bukhoriev were detained in Dushanbe upon their relations with the opposition movements. The reasons for detaining activists in Tajikistan were listening to the radio internet “Zello” “Новый Таджикистан2”, distribution of leaflets, having sms and net friendships on social sites such as “Одноклассники”, “Facebook”, “Viber” and “Watsapp” even just for pushing the “like” button under blogs on the sites. Thus, Rahmonov’s regime has chosen the way to horror the nation in order to prevent opposition activities and has warned others against the potential consequences of these actions.

26th of November 2014, at about 23:00 o’clock pm, Maqsud Ibrohimov, head of political movement “Youth for the revival of Tajikistan” was attacked at Sevanskie Street, south Tsaritsino area, administrative region of Moscow. The assault was launched by two unknown people, near to Maqsud Ibrohimov’s living area. A pistol “Makarov” with a muffler was found on the event’s site. The pistol had not yet been shot from, because during the incident its cartridge had stopped suddenly. For this reason, criminals injured Maqsudov by 6 stabs of knife and disappeared from the crime scene.

He was shifted to the hospital and when he came to consciousness, he immediately informed the people about his situation. He said, the regime could not scare me by its actions and I will continue my struggle.

It should be mentioned, that Maqsud Ibrohimov was detained on 9th of October 2014 upon a request for extradition, but Russia did not accepted this request and released him on 11th of October 2014.

Maqsud Ibrohimov a few days before this attack, had complained about being threatened by Tajik organs of the department of internal affairs in Tsaritsino, Although Moscow city did not pay much attention to his application.

According to his statement, when he accepted becoming the head of administration of the opposition movement, pressure had started against him through his relatives in Tajikistan. In addition, he was called by someone and threatened punishments if he did not terminate his political activities.
