05.12.2019 the activist of the political movement „Group 24“ Khursand Najmiddinov was detained at the airport in Moscow, after he has flew from Wien to Moscow. He has political asylum in Austria and flew to Moscow to visit his wife and children. It should be noted that this was not his first trip.
The Prosecutor who is leading his case in Russia said, that the investigation will last from 8 months to 1.5 years. Najmiddinov was in touch with us until this morning. His court hearing had took place at 14.00 today.
It should be noted that several activists of the “Group 24” have a political asylum also in Russia. Najmiddinov‘s detention occurred in connection with the request of Tajikistan. In this regard, the “Group 24” calls on all international human rights organizations to cooperate with us and help Najmiddinov Khursand, because if he will be extradited to Tajikistan, his life will be in danger or he will be sentenced for a long term of prison.
