Revenge for the “egg riot”
Rakhmonov continues to oppress relatives of activists who staged a protest in Germany on September 29. So recently it became known that some elderly parents of activists who staged an “egg riot” in Germany faced the problem of a power outage. Local officials cut off households from electricity, bluntly saying that “you can’t criticize the president.”
Recall that the situation began to develop on September 29. Then those gathered near the Embassy of Tajikistan in Berlin threw eggs at Rakhmonov’s motorcade. The dictator’s reaction was not long in coming: the very next day, the arrests of relatives of activists began, who arranged a “Hot Welcome” for Rakhmonov(the President of Tajikistan since 1994) in Germany.

3. The security authorities of the Rasht region detained the 64-year-old father of the speaker of the “Group 24”, Ubaidullo Saidi, in the Nusratullo Makhsuma community of Shul village on September 30 and released him on October 2, provided that he must to be capital city and testifies there.
4. Another representative of “Group 24” – Abuzar Khojazoda told us that on September 30, his parents, brother and sister were detained.
5. Ismail Ismonov, a member of “Group 24”, who participated in the Berlin demonstration, said that on September 30, security agencies took his brother Asliddin Ismanov and his uncle Umar Yusufov.

8. Jamshed Sharifov, a member of Group 24 and one of the active participants in the Berlin demonstration, said that the authorities of the city of Bokhtar (Kurgantyube) arrived at two in the morning on September 29, arrested their brother and two uncles, released on October 3.
9. Six members of the family of Muhammadrazhab Sayidaliyev, a former representative of the “Group 24” (mother, elder sister, brother, daughter-in-law and two nephews), as well as two families of relatives of an Islamic Renaissance party activist living in the neighborhood of Jalaluddin Rumi, were taken to Dushanbe on September 30 and released on the same day. Except for the brother, whose whereabouts were unknown until October 3, when he was released.
10. Four family members (including parents) of our activist – Muhammajon Abduloyev, 29.09 were detained in Kulyab.
11. The father of the active member of “Group 24” Yusuf Mirzoev and his three sisters were taken away on September 29, the video with them was posted on the Internet, but their whereabouts were unknown.

Police officers visited the family of another member of “Group 24” – Khursand Najmuddinov, showed a photo of one of the participants in the Berlin demonstration and put pressure on them to confirm that this young man in the photo is their son, but Khursand did not participate in this demonstration!
14. The father of Behruz Tagoisoda (known as Salman), head of information and propaganda at “Group 24” and host of the Voice of the People programme, was also abducted by authorities on September 29 and released on October 2.
International organizations have already paid attention to the unprecedented detentions of relatives of activists who took part in the “egg riot.” On October 6, the human rights organization Human Rights published a report in which it counted only 47 cases of law enforcement officers detaining relatives of protesters against Rakhmonov’s policy. They especially note that they detained everyone indiscriminately: both the elderly and children (the oldest detainee is an 81-year-old elder, the smallest is a 1.5-year-old child).
The detainees were grossly treated, humiliated, threatened and insulted.
This petty revenge on the part of the dictator is absurd, because he takes revenge on innocent people who should not be responsible for the activities of their relatives. A whole campaign was launched to harass and complicate the lives of people who have nothing to do with politics. It would be better if these efforts and resources were spent on the benefit of society.
And in general, Rakhmonov’s reaction to the “egg riot” is very similar to that of a spoiled child, not a mature politician. Which once again shows that he is a very mediocre politician.
