Yesterday (24.04.2018), on the second day of its official visit to Brussels, the Group 24’s delegation has met with Mr. Bogdan Brunon, the member of the European Parliament, the leading party in the European Parliament, as well as the member of Delegation to the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly.
He warmly welcomed our representatives and thanked them for their detailed explanation about the current situation in Tajikistan. During the conversation, the representatives of the “Group 24” raised the issue of detainees in Turkey, the leader of Group 24 Suhrob Zafar and Nasimjon Sharipov, who threaten extradition to Tajikistan. Our representatives asked the European Parliament to pay a special attention to the problems in Tajikistan.
We remain, that the head of the “Group 24” Suhrob Zafar and its representative in Turkey Nasimjon Sharipov were detained on March 19th, this year, by the Turkish law enforcement agencies at the request of the government of Tajikistan and their case is still under consideration. At the same time, the government of Tajikistan is making it’s effort to extradite these political activists from Turkey to Tajikistan.
