Letter of condolences of the political movement “Group 24” in connection with the natural disaster in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region
On the morning of February 15, an avalanche descended in the center of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.
As a result of the disaster, about 22 residential buildings, the building of the Consulate of Afghanistan, as well as a gas station were under the snow.
According to some reports, as a result of the snow, about thirteen residents of the city of Khorog fell into an avalanche and died.
It is alleged that the State Emergency Service, together with local residents, managed to save about 13 people, including two children.
The avalanche also damaged a power line and left the city of Khorog without power.
The political movement “Group 24” is deeply saddened by this tragedy.
