Emigration of teachers and illiteracy of the younger generation in the hands of Rahmonov

The last press conference of the heads of departments and ministries of Tajikistan has ended. It was like a theatrical performance, as in previous years, in a mixed genre of comedy and tragedy. Once again, it became clear that such events are nothing more than false reports on the activities of structures subordinate to the Government of the country and dust in the eyes of the people. Statistics and figures far from reality were discussed and the activities of these institutions as an indicator of the development of the sector and progress in the political, economic, social and cultural life of the country. At the press conference, it was noticeable how sincerely the heads of institutions and ministries answer questions from the state media and how much they are afraid of relatively free media that are trying to raise pressing problems of society and the people. This also confirms the fact that the speeches of some officials were held on the same day and at the same time so that journalists would not be able to attend.

The opinion of the Minister of Education and Science on the issue of leaving teachers from schools not only surprised, but also outraged the public. A few days ago, representatives of the education authorities of the Khatlon region reported that last year 2067 teachers left the cities of Khuroson, Vose, Yavan, Jomi, Jaihun, Balkhi, Kubodiyon and Kushaniyon. The Minister of Education and Science of Tajikistan confirmed this fact, answering the question of the correspondent, but noted that “this should not be a tragedy.” Such a response by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan is not a personal opinion of one minister, but reflects the attitude of the authorities towards this problem and the incompetence of Rahmonov personally regarding the present and future people. During his thirty years in power, Rahmonov, through his reckless and selfish policies, turned Tajikistan into a corrupt, impoverished, backward and undemocratic country in all spheres. For thirty years, the emigration of specialists has always been in the interests of the dictatorial regime of the country. The motto of the regime is “emigrate and pull the cart, just do not demand your rights from the authorities!”

Statistics show that in recent years, not only teachers, but also tens of thousands of doctors, engineers, agronomists and other experienced and qualified specialists have left the country. Their departure will further plunge our society into an economic and social crisis.

If the Minister of Education and Science had at least a little authority and conscience, he would say that “the departure of an experienced teacher is a tragedy for society.” Because as long as a graduate of the university becomes an experienced teacher, several young generations will remain illiterate. Perhaps the Minister of Education and Science is pursuing a policy of the Rahmonov family regime aimed at preserving the illiteracy of the people and the government. After all, uneducated people are easier to manage.
