Message of the political movement “Group 24” to the people on the occasion of Independence Day
Independence Day of the Republic of Tajikistan is celebrated annually on September 9.
The name “Tajikistan” appeared in the second decade of the last century, and on the political map of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the Autonomous Republic of Tajikistan first appeared in 1924 as part of Uzbekistan, and in 1929 became a Soviet republic. It turns out that the name “Tajikistan” existed before that, and in 2024 Tajikistan will be a hundred years old. And history testifies that the great sons of the Tajik people Nusratullo Mahsum, Shirinsho Shotemur, Sadriddin Aini, Chanor Imamon and dozens of others played a role in the formation of Soviet Tajikistan, and some gave their lives for this.
However, for more than thirty years, Rahmonov’s dictatorial regime has turned this truly important national holiday into part of its propaganda program and is abusing it for its own purposes. But it was Rahmonov who betrayed the true independence of the country and turned Tajikistan into a province of Russia.
Moreover, Rahmonov(President of Tajikistan since 1994) usurped other people’s achievements and distorted history. On the eve of Independence Day, he talks only about his “achievements,” does not mention the achievements of his predecessors and does not allow others to mention these names.
In Soviet times, Tajikistan was subordinate to Moscow, more precisely the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. However, after the Rakhmon family came to power, the fate of the country and its people passed into the hands of one family. Today Rahmonov “looks into Moscow’s mouth” when discussing important international issues, and solves internal issues, taking into account not the interests of the people, but the interests of the family.
Rahmonov and his government have been feeling safe under the Kremlin’s auspices for more than thirty years and are having fun at the expense of looting people and national resources. That is why the autocratic regime of Tajikistan turns a blind eye to all the crimes of the Russian authorities against Tajik immigrants and, one might say, did nothing for the benefit of labor migrants. Today, migrant workers have become an instrument of pressure on Rakhmonov for Russia, and a source of filling the country’s budget for Rakhmonov.
During the thirty years of his rule, Rahmonov not only did nothing for the people of the country, but also led to a deterioration in the economic situation with his illiterate actions. Corruption, nepotism, tyranny and oppression flourish in the country.
There is no need to talk about the rights and freedoms of citizens. Rakhmonov, having eliminated and expelled his political opponents, influential popular leaders, journalists and civil society activists, declared war on the liberal intelligentsia. He, like Zahhak (a character from Shahnameh, the author of Firdausi), sacrifices people to appease his snakes, so as not to become the prey of snakes himself, that is, the bloodthirsty regime and his bloodthirsty family.
But today, in spite of everything, we congratulate the respected people of Tajikistan on Independence Day!!!
The time has come to gain our true independence by eliminating Rahmonov’s corrupt, tyrannical, criminal and dictatorial regime and to celebrate this Independence Day in a free environment.
Let’s celebrate a democratic and prosperous Tajikistan!
