Today, the people of Tajikistan mourn. Again there was an armed conflict on the border of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, as a result of which dozens of people were killed, hundreds were injured.
The Group of 24 political movement is alongside its people during these difficult days. We express our deep sympathy to the families and friends of the victims of the recent conflicts on the border of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The people of Tajikistan have been going through difficult times for several days. The armed conflict at the border brought the whole people together. Today, both supporters of the authorities and the opposition are on equal terms and want to protect their homeland from foreign aggression. Today is the time for the Government to listen to the words of the people and use any useful advice to get out of this crisis.
In this regard, the political movement “Group of 24” would like to make some proposals.
The border region between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan is currently at war. Therefore, first of all, it is necessary to relocate people from the war zone, especially women, children and the elderly, to safe places.
Further, at the first turn of the war, there should be the country’s army, people who are trained and know how to fight, and not inexperienced young soldiers. As the data shows, young soldiers called up for military service and even armed civilians are fighting on the front lines of the war today. It’s wrong! Civilians mobilize for war if martial law is declared in the country. Protecting the country’s borders is the duty of the army, not the duty of the people!
The third important point is that we must actively wage an information war. Because the right and timely information is also important to ensure victory. The Group of 24 political movement, along with other opposition parties, has more experience in information warfare than Tajik civil society. We can broadcast news in different languages. In this regard, the political movement “Group of 24” officially declares its readiness to cooperate with Tajik civil society in covering border incidents and conducting information warfare.
