A few days ago, news appeared in the press about the appointment of Emomali Rakhmonov’s daughter, Rukhshona Emomali, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the UK. The decree on her appointment was personally signed by Rakhmonov(The President of Tajikistan since 1994).
In connection with this news, state TV channels recalled the merits of Rukhshona Emomali, emphasizing that she is not an accidental person in this post, in 2016 she already worked at the Embassy of Tajikistan in the UK, among other things, she managed to become the author of the book “Fundamentals of the Diplomatic Service.” The book was co-authored with academician Talbak Nazarov. But no matter how they try to present this news to the people in the light of “all members of the Rakhmonov family work for the benefit of the state,” many are skeptical of this candidacy and its correspondence to the responsible position. Dissatisfaction with injustice is growing: “everything is in Tajikistan for the Rakhmonov family!”
This recent appointment has created a huge problem for the Tajik state: all positions of responsibility are distributed in a narrow circle, where there is no access to simple, talented, worthy people. The country is led by non-professionals, and at a high level the administration of Tajikistan is a purely family matter.
If at the highest level kinship with the Rakhmonov family solves everything, then at the local levels of government the same principle is observed: “everywhere are their people” and this leads to huge problems, since non-professionals occupy positions, in addition, it generates enormous corruption in scale.
And while the people live in hunger and many are forced to work away from their families, Rakhmonov continues to take care of only his many offspring, appointing his relatives to state posts and giving them state resources.
