Rahmonov(The président of Tajikistan since 1994) is scheduled to visit Europe.
In recent days, news has appeared in the media about Rahmonov’s arrival in Europe. The most interesting thing is that this news was distributed not through some official channel, but leaked through the employees of the law enforcement agencies, who were tasked with preventing Rahmonov from meeting in Europe with outraged fellow citizens. This week, the families of most of the opposition, including the Group of 24 activists who had previously thrown eggs at Rahmonov’s car during his last visit to Europe, were summoned to the authorities and asked not to allow a repeat of the past incident. Otherwise, their relatives living in Tajikistan will be in prison, and their property will be confiscated in favor of the state. But opposition speeches show that they are not afraid of threats and are seriously preparing for Rahmonov’s visit, stocking up on paint and eggs. In general, the opposition is waiting for a dear guest in Europe.
The main request of the authorities: call relatives – opposition activists in Europe and ask to refrain from any events.
Abuzar Khojazoda, head of the personnel department of the political movement “Group 24” said that his elderly father was taken to the internal affairs department and there he was forced to call his son and urge him not to participate in actions against Rahmonov during his visit to Europe. Otherwise, he was threatened that his father would be imprisoned. Abuzar expressed bewilderment: why the authorities still cannot understand that in 10 years their pressure on his family has not had any impact on him. But the authorities are stubbornly trying to put pressure on him through relatives who remained in Tajikistan.
The same pressure applies to the families of other oppositionists. But so far that pressure has not yielded any results. But despite this, the authorities do not abandon their methods and constantly increase threats against the relatives of the opposition. These are normal methods for dictatorial governments, Rahmonov does not disdain anything, he does everything for the interests of his family, money and status, and the opportunity to remain in power.
The political movement “Group 24” condemns any pressure and threats against the families of opposition, considers this contrary to the laws of Tajikistan and the international community, and calls on people to protect their rights, because no one will return your rights to you until you demand it yourself! We will not ask the tyrant to ease the pressure, since this will not have any effect. Therefore, we appeal to you, people, do not let them oppress you and your compatriots and defend your rights, otherwise tomorrow injustice will affect you personally!!! We hope that the noble people of Tajikistan will understand our desire…!
