On June 14th 2014 with the initiative of Umarali Quvvatov the first Tajik-speaking channel called “New Tajikistan” on the Internet radio “Zello” was created. After his release from prison, for some time Umarali uvvatov was in a lull and as a new stage of work he began with the creation of this channel. The purpose of creating this channel was to give the population of Tajikistan objective information about the processes which were taking place in Tajikistan, truthful information about the economic situation and compromising information about the actions of the Rahmon’s clan. Since in Tajikistan exists strict censorship and the media are fully controlled by the family of Rahmon and special services of Tajikistan, this was one of the ways which changed the course of fighting against the regime. A new method of fighting through this channel had now begun. In the beginning, of course, there were few members, but gradually the number of Tajik members increased. People began to participate in discussions and express what was in their hearts. People talked about the problems they faced at Home, about the difficult life of the labor migrants, about social injustice in Tajikistan, the lack of perspective and faith in the future, etc. Unfortunately, on 22 July, 2014 the “New Tajikistan” channel was hacked and blocked, but on the same day another channel called “New Tajikistan 2” was opened. Today “Group 24” and its supporters are using this channel to conduct anti-Rahmon’s propaganda and are conducting various programs to discuss political, economic and social processes in Tajikistan. Due to this channel, tens of thousands of Tajiks have woken up from a deep sleep. On the channel, every registered person has the right to Express his political position, tell his opinions arguing with facts, without slander, insult or infringing the rights of others.
“Group 24” calls upon all citizens not to stay aside and join our ranks, so that we Tajiks are able to identify ourselves in the future.
