The situation in Khorog, the capital of GBAO(Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region), has continued to heat up for the past few days.
The main reason for the aggravation of the situation is the murder of a resident of the region Ziyobekov Gulbiddin by law enforcement officers. The authorities, as always, explained the death of Gulbiddin Ziyobekov by the fact that he was wanted and resisted law enforcement agencies during the detention.
On November 25, hundreds of local residents, brought the coffin to the Hukumat building (local administration), calling on the authorities to investigate the cause of Ziyobekov’s death and bring the perpetrators to justice. Demonstrators spent the night in front of the regional government building, and this morning, November 26, they faced an armed attack by law enforcement agencies, as a result of which, members of the criminal regime killed two more peaceful demonstrators, Amirshoev Tutisho and Murodbekov Gulnazar.
The political movement “Group 24” strongly condemns the killing of civilians in Gorno-Badakhshan by the Rakhmonov criminal regime, as well as the use of weapons against civilians. We also believe that the closure of Internet access to limit the dissemination of information is a gross violation of human rights.
