In memory of the founder of “Group 24” Umarali Kuvvatov.
Nine years ago, on March 5, 2015, Umarali Kuvvatov was killed. This is a bright politician, an ardent fighter for democracy and an opponent of dictator Rakhmonov. A man who managed to gather like-minded people around him and lead hundreds of freedom-loving people along his path of struggle. The Group of 24 political movement he founded continues to live and fight for freedom, democracy and justice. Rakhmonov was very mistaken, believing that by destroying the leader, he would destroy the political movement “Group 24.”
On the contrary, after the death of Umarali Kuvvatov, his like-minded people, driven by righteous anger, rallied even more. The movement went beyond Russia and Turkey, and was joined by followers in Europe and America. “Group 24” has been recognized by international human rights organizations and EU and American countries.
Umarali Kuvvatov gave his life for the people and future of Tajikistan. We remember this victim, we continue his case. One day Tajikistan will be free of Rakhmonov’s dictatorial regime. And everyone will receive according to their merits.
